Consecutive interpretation

Consecutive interpretation means that a speaker utters a sentence (or a phrase) and an interpreter who is usually standing next to the speaker translates that into the target language. When ordering consecutive interpretation, we recommend that you would keep in mind that the duration of speeches/presentations/lectures/etc. doubles. The duration of the interpretation is calculated by the hour. It is also helpful if you would inform the interpreter about the topic and/or content of the presentation(s); a little preparation goes a long way. When making a bid, the topic and possible travel and accommodation expenses are also taken into account.
Consecutive interpretation is useful in situations where there is a lot of discussion between the speaker and the audience that an interpreter sitting in a translation booth might not be able to hear.
